Great Bike Tour

My family enjoyed a great e bike ride inPortland guided by Sarah Bott. She was very knowledgeable about the city and entertaining. Sarah took us to a beautiful rose garden and Mississippi street with quaint shops, bars and restaurants as well as the Aidias campus headquarters. The e bikes were fun to ride and a great way to see this very pretty residential and commercial part of Portland. I highly recommend Sarah as a tour guide and the e bike store, which took the time to make sure that we were properly fitted with the right size bikes and were comfortable riding an e bike.

Excellent and informative

My spouse and I met Sarah for an all day tour to get acquainted with the neighborhoods within Portland. Sarah was extremely informative in term of demographics, changes that have occurred within each of neighborhoods and probably changes that will occur in the future. Transportation, the micro-community businesses serving the area (i.e. restaurants, micro breweries, stores, etc.) and other things of interest or concern that we wanted to know before starting to focus on which area is of interest to house hunt. There was not a dull moment and there was no way we could have covered so much ground without Sarah. We would even do a repeat to get more detailed.

FANTASTIC early morning tour of Portland!

We got an early start and were able to see much more since we were out before traffic on a Saturday morning. Sarah is a absolute wealth of information about the City, it’s history as well as history of many of the individual neighborhoods. This is the kind of tour that you only get with a long time resident. It is definitely not scripted but had so many little details.

I appreciated the communication with Sarah prior to our trip as it was a surprise birthday trip for my husband. She put up with my chatter 🙂 and created a tour that was perfect for us. She offered stops for food and rest rooms and gave us options of things to see. Very highly recommend the driving tour for anyone who wants to see and know about Portland.

Moving to Portland Tour

This tour exceeded our expectations and Sarah was absolutely wonder. We had a private tour of the city, driving around each quadrant while she detailed the history, culture, etc. I definitely think it was worth the money as we would not have been able to see as much in as little of time otherwise.

GREAT history and current info on the city!

Sarah was a wonderful tour guide. My first personal tour versus city bus type tour. Kept a great pace in both knowledge download and visiting places. Very friendly and also kept in mind out interests. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to get to know a city’s history, current challenges and how it got its vibe!

Best Portland Tour Host I Can Imagine

If you want visit Portland and learn about this unique city, I can think of no better guide. In traveling the world, we have encountered a host of people who tell you about their city. Most guides are pretty good, but few we have met have the breadth of knowledge, presentation skills and enthusiasm that Sarah brings to the experience. She has learned the ins and outs of Portland and Nothwest Oregon both as a resident and as a public expert for several government agencies. If I had a friend considering relocating to Portland, I would especially work with Sarah. She knows neighborhoods, transportation and history – all key factors in understanding where you might wish to live. If you are coming to Portland, check out Portland Adventure Tours. You will not be disappointed.

Sarah’s the best!

Sarah knows her way around Portland. She brings you to these wonderful unexpected nature gems around the city where you least expect them to be. She’s extremely genuine and calm which made the whole bike tour with my dad such a fun, relaxing, memorable experience. But the best part was, we gained a friend. Thanks so much Sarah! Til next time!

Are you ready for some big fun?

This tour is like no other. Sarah will bring you to the places no other tour will bring you and the places everyone will bring you. See combines knowledge and personality that is unmatched. Where she gets the energy is something I can’t answer. I consider myself a seasoned traveler and there is no better.

Tour of downtown Portland w/ Sarah

Hands down this was the best tour guide and tour I have ever taken. I’m not overly active on Tripadvisor but had to jump in and write down thoughts about Sarah. She was incredibly knowledgeable about what makes Portland great. We spent an entire day prior to this tour walking around and started to form a so-so opinion about the city. Wow, we shifted big time when we saw all the cool places Sarah took us to. If you are on the fence about which tour to take, look no further and book it w/ Sarah. I have had a lot of tour guides and this is the first one I’m to writing a review on. Cheers!

Bombdiggity Tour with Amazing Sarah

My mom and I had an amazing time! Sarah knows Portland and will let you know about all its joys and quirks. There’s no better way to experience Portland than with a hip local who gives you the inside scoop. We had a personalized tour meaning we got to stop and enjoy the parts we love most and we got to choose our own itinerary (with extremely helpful guidance from Sarah). We wanted to see the waterfalls at Columbia Gorge and get a sense of the city since I might be moving there.

Sarah went above and beyond taking us to waterfalls and vantage points. She stopped for photos and told us stories. Parking would have been a nightmare, but Sarah let us avoid that hassle and we got to explore the beauty of Oregon without feeling the pains of a tourist. We had a delicious food cart lunch, explored Powell bookstore, visited Voodoo doughnuts, the waterfront park, and even got a tour of OHSU (where I might be going).

It’s amazing to be able to have a private tour with such a lovely person and I highly recommend Sarah’s tours to anyone visiting this city. My mom and I only regret we didn’t stay at her Airbnb as well with its cool themed rooms. Oh well… next time :-).

Epic solo tour around Portland, Mt. Hood, and the Oregon Coast

Sarah has an upbeat and warm personality that I quickly got along with. We first met when I stayed at her Airbnb house on my first night in Portland. I found out that she offered various tours of Portland and other destinations, and I jumped on the chance to book some tours during my Portland stay. She took me on a day tour of the eccentricies and sights of the city of Portland, and among other things piqued my interest in Portland’s great doughnut war (which I explored at much length later on… thank you for that, Sarah)! On our second day, we journeyed along the Columbia River and spent some time in Astoria, and made our way to the Oregon Coast, to Cannon Beach. Lastly, we journeyed up to the Colombia River Gorge and Mt. Hood. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I would recommend Sarah’s tours to everyone visiting Portland. She has a lot to offer travelers and newbies to the area!

Hiking in forest near Portland

Sarah at Portland Adventure Tours was great value and such a friendly informative person. Strongly recommend her tours as the one I went on was a real delight. Apart from being taken to a beautiful part of the world, it was great to be able to chat with Sarah who felt like an old friend in a couple of minutes.Give the large group tours a miss and go on a personal tour with Sarah.

Portland Tour

Took a guided car tour of Portland with Sarah and found things I did not know existed, Having lived in Eugene and visited Portland numerous times, I found Sarah’s knowledge of the city fascinating. Her ability to get around the city was amazing. In short order we traversed all areas and found some really cool eating joints. It was a fun, jam packed day. p.s. Don’t forget Powell’s Books!

(Jeep, Kihei)

Personalized private tour

I took my father to Portland for a visit and asked Sarah if she could customize a driving tour for us that highlighted what makes Portland special. Sarah rocked it! We toured all over the city while she talked about the city’s culture, modern history, neighborhoods, food, and everything else. She embodies the spirit and vibe of Portland and her excitement about the city is contagious! We left wanting more. My dad was thrilled and loved the stop at Powells during the tour. I can’t wait to go back on my own and check out one of her bike tours….soon!

Moving to Portland Tour

With plans to relocate to Portland from Seattle, I had stayed with Sarah many times at her fantastic Airbnb. On my first stay, I could tell that Sarah was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic about living in Portland, after all, she was a former spokesperson for the City of Portland. I immediately booked a tour with her for my next return trip to Portland. Since I wanted to see as much as possible, Sarah drove me all around the city. I saw and learned so much- from the rapid development and zoning changes that were taking place in the various neighborhoods, to public transportation and pedestrian only areas, to places to eat and take in Portland’s atmosphere, and learned about the wonderful parks in Portland and places to bike ride. Sarah was able to tailor the tour to my specific needs and wants. I feel ready to live here now thanks to Sarah.

Guided Tour and Bike Tour

Sarah provided a fun safe environment for me to experience two of my favourite things to do while I visited Portland. She was my personal guide for two days.

Hiking: I love to get out in nature but as a traveller on your own you often don’t get to far off the beaten track. Sarah took me to the Mt Hood area and we hiked up to the Tom, Dick and Harry Peaks. We were just going to the lake. Then we got all inspired and decided to go on further. Something I would think twice about doing on my own. Sarah and I chatted and enjoyed the forest and the views. She has an abundance of local knowledge which adds to the experience. She happily snapped photos as we progressed along. Sarah has a relaxed view of life and a great sense of humour. She is so easy to talk with that you quickly become friends.

Biking: We used the awesome electric bikes from e-bikes and toured downtown Portland. Sarah is very safety conscious and gives great instructions. She does a great job putting herself between you and the traffic. Quite self sacrificing. At all times I felt like I knew where we were going, and safe doing it. She gives you interesting snit-bits of knowledge about the city. Her perspective is unique because she had seen the changes to Portland over the last 25 years. She knew where to go for the specific things that interested me. We even did a little bit of shopping on the way.

I highly recommend her, especially if you are a person travelling on your own. Her tours are great value for money.

5 Star Tour of Portland with a Fun-loving Guide!

Don’t miss an insider’s view of Portland with the knowledgeable and delightful, Sarah Bott! We arrived a few minutes early to the e-bike store so walked around Portland’s first public rose garden, just across the street. Arrive in time to experience this beautiful neighborhood park. Then it was time to go so we were fitted with state of the art (snazzy) electric bikes and began our adventure. With her background in City politics and planning, Sarah has a unique insight into what is happening in this dynamic city. We got a great overview of the highlights of Portland including lunch at a food truck (a must do). Sarah took several pictures along the way and emailed them to us. It was a memorable day and we HIGHLY recommend Sarah!

(Robert, Brooklyn)

Such a fun bike tour!

Sarah and I had so much fun riding through Portland! I would have never seen as much of Portland as I have without this tour. We went through neighborhoods, Forest Park, the Rose Test Garden, and ate lunch from a local cart in Powell’s books! I definitely recommend this. The eBikes were a great bonus for those tough hills.

(Jessie, New York)

Sarah is amazing. She knows the city well, tells it like it is, and tailors each tour to their specific interests. Ask her about some of the more interesting tours she’s given, you’ll be in stitches!

Touring bicycle-friendly Portland on an electric bike is a no-brainer. You get to see it all and cross many of its bridges without the hassles of driving, out in the open, with a tiny bit of exercise, too. Electric bikes make it almost effortless.

Sarah’s tours are a bargain, because they include the bike rental and a thorough tour of the city, including anecdotes from a local that won’t be found in any tour book. A peek inside Portland unlike any other. You get to see parts of the city you can’t by car, she’ll keep you entertained and engaged the whole time. I’d call her the straight Jane Lynch!

(Tony, Los Angeles)

She’s great!

Sarah has a thorough knowledge of Portland and has a wonderful sense of humor. She plans the tour based on what you want to see and is very flexible.

Journey into the real Portland

I had the pleasure of being on one of these tours with Sarah. Wow, she knows everyone and we were able to see a below the surface look at whats really going on in Portland…diversity, families, community & a passion for a place that is even more beautiful on two wheels. Looking forward to our next trip to hang out with the Queen of Portland in the future.

(Stephen, Portland)

A fun day full of sights and sounds

Sarah, my tour guide, is a great host full of knowledge and is very flexible in bringing you to places she thinks you will love. I recommend taking some time to explore and doing so with her – you’ll be rewarded for not “winging it” and you’ll experience the history and reason behind what you see.
